Iguanodon is an ornithopod dinosaur. One of the very first dinosaurs to be described, it is best known for how it was reconstructed with a nose akin to certain iguana species; in truth it was a digit on the hand.
Fifty Million Years Ago (1925)[]
History and Design
The Iguanodon is a large bipedal creature with stout limbs.
Role
The Iguanodon is seen browsing on a generic tree.
Inaccuracies
- A title card describes iguanodon as being "60 feet (18.2 m) from end to end", when the maximum length of Iguanodon as of 2020 is 13 metres (44 ft), while the average length is 10 metres (33 feet).
- The iguanodon has an overly humanoid or ground sloth bauplan.
- The iguanodon has an almond-shaped head.
- The skin appears to be of a wrinkly, leathery kind like an elephant's or artist John Sibbick's work. Its more likely Iguanodon had small scales.
