Role
In the Planet Dinosaur episode Lost World, a young male Carcharodontosaurus roars at a rival before he and the rival fight. The fight ultimately ends when the young male Carcharodontosaurus bites his rival on the snout and roars again as the rival leaves the territory in disgrace. The young male Carcharodontosaurus then hunts a herd of Ouranosaurus, and gives chase to an unlucky individual. He chases the Ouranosaurus out of the forest and into the desert, and wounds the hadrosauroid with his teeth before waiting for it to die. The unfortunate Ouranosaurus collapses while panting, and the Carcharodontosaurus finishes it off by biting its neck.
Later in the episode, as the Carcharodontosaurus is eating the dead Ouranosaurus he hunted, a Spinosaurus, which is forced to hunt on land, challenges him for the carcass. The Spinosaurus pulls the dead Ouranosaurus away from the Carcharodontosaurus and the Carcharodontosaurus roars at it. A fight ensues when the Spinosaurus slashes the Carcharodontosaurus on the back, and the Carcharodontosaurus bites the Spinosaurus on the sail in retaliation. The Spinosaurus slashes the Carcharodontosaurus again, and the Carcharodontosaurus backs down while the Spinosaurus eats the dead Ouranosaurus.
In the Planet Dinosaur episode New Giants, a Carcharodontosaurus appears just as the young Paralititan is grabbed on its hind leg by the Sarcosuchus. The Carcharodontosaurus grips the young sauropod’s neck and plays a primal game of tug-of-war with the crocodyliform. The Carcharodontosaurus manages to win the young Paralititan, but the adult Paralititan snarl at the Carcharodontosaurus and force it to retreat.
Inaccuracies
It is now thought that Carcharodontosaurus was capable of producing infrasound via closed-mouth vocalization like modern cassowaries, bitterns, and alligators. But since this was not known at the time when Planet Dinosaur was produced, they gave it a spine-chilling roar.
Since Carcharodontosaurus is known from the Kem Kem Group, it did not coexist with Ouranosaurus, which was from the Elrhaz Formation.
